Cervical Spondylosis Treatment

Cervical spondylosis is a degenerative condition that affects the vertebrae and disks in the neck. It is commonly caused by aging, as the disks in the neck can shrink and the vertebrae can develop bone spurs, leading to nerve compression and spinal cord damage. Other factors that can contribute to the development of cervical spondylosis include:

• Repetitive neck movements
• Poor posture
• Genetics
• Previous neck injuries
• Obesity
• Arthritis

In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), cervical spondylosis is often seen as a result of qi (vital energy) and blood stagnation in the neck, leading to a blockage of the channels that supply the neck with vital energy. This blockage can cause pain and other symptoms associated with cervical spondylosis.
To treat cervical spondylosis in TCM, a practitioner may use a combination of techniques, including acupuncture, herbal remedies, and therapeutic massage. Acupuncture is believed to help regulate the flow of qi and blood in the neck, relieving pain and promoting healing. Herbal remedies may include the use of herbs such as frankincense, myrrh, and angelica, which are thought to have a positive effect on neck and spinal health. Therapeutic massage can help improve circulation and alleviate muscle tension, leading to relief from pain and other symptoms associated with cervical spondylosis.
